What exactly is El Viaje del Alma?
It is a 2.5-hour ceremonial journey — not a simple tour, but an experience that blends a spiritual welcome led by a real Maya shaman, exclusive access to our private UJ cenote, a guided walk through our Temple of Alchemy (the brewery), and a final Master Tasting Class led by a sommelier.
Where does the ritual begin?
The ritual begins at our main location: Cervecería Tulum Brewery Restaurant, on Federal Highway 307, km 2306. Look for our iconic blue letters; a Guardian will welcome you at the main palapa to begin your initiation.
Can I swim in the UJ cenote?
No. The majestic UJ cenote is the mystical heart of our universe — a private sanctuary. During El Viaje del Alma, it is visited as a sacred altar for contemplation and reflection, not as a swimming area.
Does the ritual include drinks or food?
Yes. Every experience includes our Sacred Elixirs Tasting, which features:
* A ceremonial welcome beer (Cacao Stout)
* A tasting at the cenote (Holbox Dark Lager)
* A fresh beer poured straight from the fermentation tank
* A final Master Tasting Class with four of our signature craft beers
If you choose The Complete Ritual, you’ll also enjoy a ceremonial pairing of four gourmet Origin Bites synchronized with your tasting.
Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome! The experience is designed for all ages and is both kid-friendly (we offer delicious non-alcohol options such as our “Butter Beer”) and pet-friendly. The legal drinking age is 18+. Important: The journey includes walks along jungle paths, so it is not recommended for guests with severe mobility limitations.
How long does the experience last?
The full ceremonial journey lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
What should I bring?
The experience includes walks through mystical jungle paths. We recommend comfortable footwear (tennis shoes or secure sandals, not heels) and light clothing. Don’t forget your camera — you’ll want to capture moments at the private UJ cenote and the Temple of Alchemy.
Is this a private experience?
The ritual is performed in small groups of up to 20 Soul Travelers to preserve the atmosphere. It is not a private tour; however, access to sacred spaces like the UJ cenote is entirely exclusive to our guests — far from the crowds.
